I offer trimming services in central and south central Va, including, but not limited to the following areas:  Lynchburg, Bedford, Appomattox, Farmville, Chesterfield, Richmond, Brookneal, Gladys, South Boston, Halifax and Daville areas.  I currently charge a trip/gas fee for the more distant locations, but this can be split between clients in the area.    Please email me for fees specific to your area.  ladyrings@aol.com

Trimming fees are as follows.

Horses $40
Ponies $30
Miniature Horses $25
Well trained Draft Horses $50

A word about miniature horses and ponies  Miniature horses and ponies are the HARDEST (after the drafts, of course) horses to trim, simply because of their size.  It takes me just as long to trim and balance a miniature as it does to trim a regular sized horse, and the same attention is paid to detail, including balancing and a good, strong, mustang roll.  I offer their trims at a reduced fee to encourage owners of these precious gems to keep them on a regular schedule of trimming.  They can get out of balance just as quick as a larger horse.  They deserve the same care and attention as all the other horses in the herd.

Foals under 4 months of age:  I do not charge a fee to trim young foals whose mother I am also trimming.  I like to get the babies started right away, which will require halter training on your part (another good reason not to put THAT off).  I will begin working with them the first time after birth that I trim their mother.  At this point, they may NOT need any trimming at all, but I will lift their feet, put a rasp and hoof pick on them, etc.  These first sessions will be short and stress-free for baby and mother.  After 4 months, I charge 1/2 of the adult horse fee, and at one year, the regular fee schedule will apply.

Do you live out of my service area?   Please email me and I will try to connect you with someone closer to your home.
